Food Friday #018 – College Kitchen Cooking

Dining hall food gets boring pretty quickly, and it's expensive to eat out, so the next best option is to DIY. Breakfast today was Keurig coffee, salmon on creme cheese and bread, and a banana. Lunch was red bell pepper quesadilla, spanakopita, broccoli stir fry, and strawberry mango smoothies. Cooking in the general kitchenette was actually roommate's idea, but I was glad I tagged along. We ended up making too much food and gave some of it away to people (sadly it was lunchtime so the people returning to the dorm had already eaten, and there was much rejection). The smoothies were probably my favorite part. We had frozen strawberries, frozen mangoes, banana split ice cream, and juice, and just enough of everything to make a Jamba quality drink. It was actually a lot of fun, and hopefully it will happen again soon! ◊
